Vitamin B Complex (Nerve Structure and Metabolism)

Before we look into the benefits of vitamin B for our nervous system and metabolism, we first have to understand what the nervous system is and also what metabolism is. Vitamin B5 regulates the autonomic nervous system by producing neurotransmitters, which transmits messages within the nervous system. Vitamins B6 helps with the covering of our nerve endings, which are the million points on the surface of our body that send messages to our brain when we feel sensations like heat,cold and pain. Finally, the body requires vitamin B12, a deficiency of which will cause peripheral neuropathy. The vitamins mentioned above are also associated with maintaining metabolism to help convert the nutrients we get from the food we consume into energy to fuel our body. B1, B5 and B12 enable the body to metabolize carbohydrates, proteins and fats more effectively, therefore allowing us to obtain more energy.
